Friday, 12.15:
Feeling off today: dull chest pain on right side, then (now) left. I wonder if my bad tooth is causing a blood infection. Would the Little Clinic be of any help. I need to see a dentist, and soon.
Picked up two yards of fabric yesterday to make a curtain for the book room upstairs. We had visited three different stores this week but all the options were old lady, as T put it, so while at Walmart (a last resort) I said let me make the curtain. Bought one yard of deep orange and one of yellow to back it with/make it reversible. T picked the same orange.
We stopped at Everybody’s Records: they had I think five LPs for him and he found more. He chatted with the woman at the counter; I’ve not seen her before. Everyone knows T by name. Then to Nine Giant where I had a burger and T had chicken pesto mac & cheese. We each had a beer. Back home, I took a three-hour nap (till 7:30) then got up to fold page sets till about midnight. RGN emailed a revised cover file and proof corrections (minor). I will order the covers tomorrow on my way home from Mom’s if there’s time.
Saturday, 12.16:
let what’s left of my life be my love letter to you
(you are the envelope)
Got to Mom’s at 9:30 as J was leaving. I turned off the TV at some point because I couldn’t (still can’t) figure out the other buttons. Fell asleep on the couch for an hour; Mom slept in her chair. She told me the story again of Grandpa driving drunk and shearing off the top of his car–falling sideways on the seat as the car rammed beneath a tractor trailer, which action saved his life. She said that his car was placed in Mariemont Square for two weeks. A warning.
